James B. Stewart Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James B. Stewart of Milford, Connecticut, who passed away on May 2, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clement and Catherine Landers Stewart of Stratford, CT.; and his wife Nancy Jane Surgalis Stewart. He is survived by: his sister Joanne Hush; his children, Kimberly (Gerald Couden), James (Jill Stewart), John Stewart (Lisa Spadaro) and Julie (Jesse Rogers); his grandchildren, Gerald Couden (Meghan), Sarah Gordon (Jeff) and Alyssa Couden (Brian); his children, Catherine Couden (Josh), Justine Stewart, Trevor Stewart (Rachel), Emma, Megan Stewart and Darcy Rogers; his great grandchildren, Adrian, Lucas, Addison, Gerald (J. J.), Hayden, Emersyn and Jack; and his close friends, Jan Tranquillo, Arthur "Artie" Smallwood and William Byrnes.

The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers; donations be made to the Shriners Children or Hospice.
