He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Philip Carroll and Wanda Carroll (Staszewski); and his brothers, Walter Carroll and Roy Carroll. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Wood Carroll; his children, Dr. Christopher Carroll (Katherine), Morgan Carroll and Cynthia Donaher (Patrick); his stepson Cosbie Marable IV; his grandchildren, Jackie, Daniel, Mary Ellen, Charlie, William and Elizabeth; and his brothers, Philip Carroll (Mimi) and Roger Carroll (Joyce).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for Genitourinary Oncology (http://mskcc.convio.net).
