She was predeceased by: her parents, Essex Simmons and Ruby Simmons; her siblings, Vera Townsend, Marvin Simmons (Lalul), Essex Simmons, Jr. and Barbara Simmons Preston (late Donald); her former husband James Thomas Clemons; her son Sean Clemons; her daughter-in-law Sharon Clemons; her spouse Carwin Steadman of Stamford, CT.; her godson Aaron; and her sister Nancy Clark.
She is survived by: her godchildren, Ryan Fisher, Errick, Gary, Antonio and Chila Greenlee; and her sisters, Judy Canty and Penny Greenlee. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
