With solemn reverence, we commemorate William J. Hawes Sr. of Milford, Connecticut, whose life came to an end on October 16, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving behind cherished memories. He was predeceased by: his wife Carmella J. Hawes; his parents, Wilbur Alonzo Hawes and Marguerite Louise Cole; his brother David Hawes; and his son Joseph Rieger.
He is survived by: his sister Diane Moody; his brother-in-law David Moody; his children, William Hawes Jr., Theresa Rieger, Sharon Rieger, Robert Rieger and Karen Rieger-Dumez; and his grandchildren, Michael Rieger, Rebecca Rieger, Lauren Rieger, Matthew Rieger, Tori Rieger, David Hawes, Daniel Hawes, Samuel Gonzalez and Noemi Gonzalez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cody-White Funeral Home (107 Broad St, Milford, CT 06460). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Covenant Church of Easton (1 Sport Hill Rd, Easton, CT 06612). The military honors will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Kings Highway Cemetery (271 Cherry St, Milford, CT 06460).
