He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Emilia Monteiro; his parents, Antonio Monteiro and Laura Fernandes Monteiro; and his children, Artur Jr., Emilia (Milinha) and Utilia.
He is survived by: his daughter Cristina Monteiro (Carlos); his grandchildren, Timothy and Tiffany; his siblings, Jose Monteiro (Mabilda), Celina Simoes (Antonio), Teresa Monteiro (Antonio), Elisa Crespo (Jack) and Fernando Monteiro (Laidinha); and his siblings-in-law, Joao Crespo, Felisbina Oliveira (Jack) and Fatima Crespo (Stephen Bukowski). He is also survived by many godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Jude Church (707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468). A burial was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Monroe Center Cemetery.
