He is survived by: his wife Monique Oppel (Genest); his children, Jacob Peck (Megan) and Heather DeSimone (Olimpia); his siblings, Win Oppel (Patty), Ray Oppel (Debbie), Marie Corriveau, Arthur Oppel and Clinton Oppel; and his grandchildren, Evelyn, Catalina Celine and Matteo John. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
