It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathryn Shumbo of Moodus, Connecticut, born in Middletown, Connecticut, who passed away on October 15, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Stephen J. Shumbo; her parents, Joseph Mayer, and Emily Mayer, Jr. (Novak); her daughter Emily S. Bartosiak; and her brother Joseph Mayer, III.

She is survived by : her children, Michael Shumbo (Tracy) of Moodus, CT and Melissa DiSisto (Gregory) of Orlando, FL; her sister Madge Comeau of Higganum, CT.; and her grandchildren, Betsy Hennessey (Jack), Leanne Bartosiak, Kristin Shumbo, Kadie and Khloe DiSisto. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
