He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Sheffield and Thelma Sheffield; his daughter Christine Wheeler; and his grandson Amann Sheffield. He is survived by: his wife Floretta Sheffield (Massey); his daughters, Joyce McCants and Rita Taylor (Lavell); his grandchildren, Aaron, Adrian Sheffield, Ja'Toya, Tre'Vaughn Taylor, Anthony McCants Jr., Dewon, Iesha, Shane Wheeler, Jermaine and Tiffany Carter; and his siblings, Charles Sheffield, Elizabeth Harris, Charlotte Murphy, Ralph Sheffield and Frederick Sheffield. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, in=laws and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dinoto Funeral Home (17 Pearl St, Mystic, CT 06355). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
