Niel Spillane Obituary
We announce the death of Niel Spillane of Mystic, Connecticut, who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 102. Niel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Joseph and Treva Niel Spillane (Winter); and his son John Spillane (Melody) of Groton, CT.. He is survived by: his children, Nancy Spillane of Mystic, CT and Jamie Spillane (Linda) of Willington, CT; his grandchildren, John Spillane (Barbara) of Griswold, CT, Melissa Kumiega (Craig) of Manchester, CT, Kristen Zephyrus (Geoff), Hilary Sueoka (Dan Stedman) of Redmond, OR, J. B. Spillane (Allison) of Melbourne, Australia and Colin Spillane (Angela) of Somerville, MA; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Nikki, Jude, Quinn and Reid. He is also survived by his family, friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mark's Episcopal Church (15 Pearl St, Mystic, CT 06355).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Niel's memory may be made to Mystic Seaport, St. Mark's Church, or the Mystic River Historical Society.
