We are sad to announce that on April 13, 2022, at the age of 94, Americo Tavares of Naugatuck, Connecticut passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Fernandes Tavares; his parents, Americo A. Tavares and Alzira Sebolao Tavares; and his siblings, Felipe Tavares, Alfredo Tavares and Alzira Sebolao.

He is survived by: his children, Maria Magalhaes (Jack), Domingas Rebelo (Celestino) and Americo Tavares; and his sister-in-law Ludovina Tavares. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, and to honor Americo's memory contributions can be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury, CT 06706.
