He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Matan Sr. and Ann Matan (Lukasik); his daughter Kimberly Ann; and his brother Tom Matan. He is survived by: his wife Theodora "Teddy" Matan (Witkoski); his children, Colleen Tucker (David), Holly Pike (John), Sharon Mabey (Richard) and Chris Matan (Stacey); his grandchildren, Kalee Karim (Justin), Brendan, Drew Mabey, Matthew, Ryan and Julia Matan; his great grandchild Amara Karim; and his sister-in-law Cece Matan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial - Fitzgerald Zembruski (240 N Main St, Naugatuck, CT 06770). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Vincent Ferrer Church (1006 New Haven Rd, Naugatuck, CT 06770). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. James Cemetery (249 Cross St, Naugatuck, CT 06770).
