As we bid John Robert farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For John Robert is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert E. Swanson and Edith Rose Swanson (DiMaio); and his sister Edith "Bunny" Ferguson. He is survived by: his wife Alyce Swanson (LaBaire); his daughters, Jill Swanson of Naugatuck, Jennifer Ouellette of Plainville and Dannielle LaBarre (Brendan) of Wallingford; Jessie of Camille's Restaurant. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Vincent Ferrer Church (1006 New Haven Rd, Naugatuck, CT 06770). The military honors will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at the St Vincent Ferrer Church (1006 New Haven Rd, Naugatuck, CT 06770).
