He is survived by: his wife Maria Do Carmo Vilar (Tavares); his daughters, Maria C. Sousa of Naugatuck, Florence Cardoso (Armindo) of Southington and Isabel Vilar of Naugatuck; his grandchildren, Gabriel C. Sousa, Jeffrey C. Sousa, Zhane, Simeon Parker, Tyler, Zack, Jordan Cardoso and Kayla Williams; and his brothers, Americo and Fernando Vilar. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
