He was predeceased by: his parents, Attorney Cyril F. Gaffney and Helen Gaffney (Downes). He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Gaffney (McAuliffe); his brother Attorney J. Brian Gaffney; and his children, Sue Ellen Poyton (Robert) of Bristol, Kathryn Lancia (Joseph) of Greenville, Sharon Walsh (Thomas) of Leonardtown and Attorney Bernard Gaffney (Maureen) of Simsbury. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.
