It is with sadness that the passing of Jessie Yopp of New Britain, Connecticut is shared. Jessie, born on May 30, 1928, passed away on September 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Norman Yopp Sr. (Sonny); her parents, Jesse Hunter and Annie Hunter (Smith); and her siblings, William "Jurdin" Hunter, Robert "Bo" Hunter, Carl Hunter, Ruby Lee Ready (Hunter), Elizabeth Humphrey (Hunter) and Margaret Brown (Hunter).
She is survived by: her children, Norman "Lucky" Yopp (Carol) of Manchester, CT and Donna Yopp Columbia (Theopolis); her sisters, Annie Yopp (Hunter) of Middletown, Ada Boyd (Hunter) of Middletown and Marie Alston (Hunter) of Meriden; her grandchildren, LaQuana, Mecca, Shandell (BJ), Elijah (Corinne), Joshua (Kaylee), Gabriel and Courney; her godchildren, Erica Hunter and Craig Outland; and her daughter Laurie Howe.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cross Street AME Zion Church (440 West St, Middletown, CT 06457). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
