Sonia Matyczyk Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sonia Matyczyk of New Britain, Connecticut, who passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Matyczyk and Anastacia Matyczyk; and her siblings, Lillian Maddaluno, Louise Bechum, Vera Funk and Walter Matyczyk.

She is survived by: her brother George (Geraldine); and her nieces and nephews, Fran Maddaluno, Nancy Stringer, Kyra Macioce, Stephen Matyczyk, David, Sam, Donald Funk, Paul Maddaluno and Walter Matyczyk, Jr.. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Protection of the Theotokus Sisterhood, care of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church.
