He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Joyce, Jr. and Catherine Peet Joyce; and his siblings, Patricia Figge (late John K. Figge), Mary McCooey (late Robert H. McCooey), Bonnie Grace (Thomas G. Grace), Timothy J. Joyce (Nancy DiFederico Joyce) and Cashie Egan (Thomas F. Egan).
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Dwyer Joyce; his children, Catherine Joyce Wooters (Laurence S. Wooters) of New Canaan, CT, John Michael Joyce IV (late Clare Reynolds Joyce) of Northfield, IL, Kevin P. Joyce (Susan Smith Joyce) of Ridgefield, CT, Dennis P. Joyce (Pamela Banks Joyce) of San Rafael, CA and Timothy M. Joyce (Margaret Concannon Joyce) of Wilton, CT.; his grandchildren, Ryan, Mark, Meaghan of Catherine, J. P., Suzanne, Julie, Jack, Bridget, Kate, Conor, Sandra, Maggie, Tommy, Colin, Dennis, Chris and Mary; his great grandchildren, Brendan, Aedan, Anna, Lucy, Claire, Caitlin, Charlotte, Molly, Rowan, Naomi, Brooks, Hank, Meredith, Jack, Maeve, Penny, Cora and John; and his brother Thomas P. Joyce (late Mary McConville Joyce).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Aloysius Church (21 Cherry St, New Canaan, CT 06840). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Instead of flowers, charitable memorial donations can be made to St. Aloysius Parish, New Canaan or the New Canaan YMCA.
