We bid farewell to Susan Halas Rathjen of New Fairfield, Connecticut, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 15, 2025 at the age of 78. Susan Halas touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Halas and Violet Halas (Corrigan); and her brother John Halas. She is survived by: her husband Neil Rathjen of New Fairfield; her children, Stefanie Roig (Keith Roig) of Princeton, NJ, Carolyn Rathjen (Nicola Borri) of Rome, Italy and John Rathjen (Iveta Pavelekova Rathjen) of Franklin Lakes, NJ; her brother Donald Halas (Darlene) of Milton, DE; her granddaughters, Julianna Kelly, Genevieve Kelly, Olivia Borri, Camilla Borri, Ivana Rathjen and Bianka Rathjen; and her stepgranddaughters, Kayla Roig and Ilyssa Roig.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cornell Memorial (247 White St, Danbury, CT 06810). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery (19 Tamarack Ave, Danbury, CT 06810).
