He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Mendela and Sophia Mendela (Kulesa); his brother Wallace Mendela; his mother-in-law Carolyn Alfano; and his brother-in-law Raymond Alfano, Jr. (Friends).
He is survived by: his wife Cat (Alfano); his daughter Morgan Mendela; his brother Paul Mendela; his father-in-law Raymond Alfano, Sr. of Torrington; his brothers-in-law, David Alfano (Tammi) of New Hartford and Michael Alfano (Linda) of Goshen; and his nephews, Scott Mendela of Burlington, Wallace "Chip" Mendela (Kim) of Bristol and Robert Mendela (Rhonda) of Bristol. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Our Lady of Hope Parish. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
