Ada Lomax Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 3, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Ada Lomax formerly of New Haven, Connecticut, born in Wadesboro, North Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James K. Lomax and Mary Lomax (Gatewood); and her siblings, Everlina Jones, Herbert, James, Reginald Lomax and Bland Gatewood.

She is survived by: her sisters, Edna Grace Allison of Cape May, NJ and Barbara Brooks of Fayetteville, NC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Plans for a memorial service will be announced after the pandemic.

“In loving memory of Ada Lomax, Ada was my best friend and colleague when we both taught Social Work at SCSU. She and I would go to lunch together almost every day. We got to know each other very well. We shared an office together and often went to thrift stores looking for bargains. She was sometimes very lonely and would call me at night to chat once in awhile. She was so appreciated by her students. There is a sadness deep within. I miss her. Bill Consiglio”
