With solemn reverence, we commemorate Alfonzo Edwards (New Haven, Connecticut), born in Bonneau, South Carolina, whose life came to an end on October 15, 2025 at the age of 82, leaving behind cherished memories. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edwards and Lucille Ferguson Edwards; his son George Edwards; and his close friend Jennie Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Rosie M. Buie-Edwards; his children, Joe Dickey of New Haven, CT, Jennette Taylor of Hamden, CT and Lucille Bray (Darryl) of New Haven, CT; and his close friends, Charlene Melton and Rosa Mercado. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Church (104 Fairmont Ave, New Haven, CT 06513). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Beaverdale Memorial Park (90 Pine Rock Ave, New Haven, CT 06515).
