She was predeceased by: her husband Alfonso Proto; her parents, Dewey Hamilton and Emily Hamilton; and her siblings, Shirley Boughton and Dewey Hamilton.

She is survived by: her children, Alfonse Jay Proto (Lynne), Richard Proto, Robert Proto (Gina), Daniel Proto and Amanda Jones (Marvin); her grandchildren, Jay Freitas (Ryan), Isabella and Lenah Jones; and her sister Mary Savinelli.
