She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Sanders of South Carolina and Virginia Lockett of North Carolina; her sister Gloria Sanders; and her former husbands, Charles Tyson, Jr. and Nathan Collins, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Wanda Tyson (late Hafeez Shabazz), Charles Tyson III, Roy Tyson (Cheryle) and Nathan Collins, Jr. (Stephanie); her siblings, Mary Donegan, Juanita Sanders, Jessie Sanders Jr. of South Carolina and Sean; and her aunt Dorothy Joyner of Society Hill, SC.. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
