He was predeceased by: his parents, Parenka Ottenbreit and Stanley Ottenbreit; and his siblings, Henry, Joseph, George, Robert, Ann, Emily, June and Mary.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Slater; his sons, Christopher and Jason of New Haven; his grandson Brian Graham of Meriden; his great grandchild Talan Cook of Westbrook; and his sister Nell Parisi of New Haven.
