With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Earnest L. Clayton Sr. in New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on April 23, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Clayton and Georgia Smedley Clayton; and his siblings, James, Albert Clayton and Dorothy Ruth Henderson.

He is survived by: his sons, Earnest Clayton Jr. (Sherena) and Steven Clayton; his granddaughters, Laila and Vanessa Clayton; and his siblings, Johnny Lee Clayton, Joshua Smedley (Betty), Susie Mae Cleveland (Jimmy), Patricia Ann Madison (Jesse) and Mary Annette Campbell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Straightway Church (37 Market St, New Haven, CT 06513).
