She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Frank Williams and Novella Monk; her husband Benjamin Brown, Jr.; her siblings, Brenda Delores Rich and Allen Ray Williams; and her grandson Benjamin Aarion Brown.

She is survived by: her children, Celestine Lawton of New Haven, CT, Benjamin Brown III (Latresha) of Petersburg, VA and Marcus Best of New Haven, CT; her sisters, Sharon Parker (Perry) of Dunn and Adrien Esdaile (Scot) of Hamden, CT; and her grandchildren, Camille Carew (Dylan), Brian Pratt, Jr., Brianna Brown, Jayda Best, Chauncey Best and Bryelle Streater. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

In 2020, Edna was placed at the Montowese Center for Health and Rehabilitation after being stricken with COVID-19.
