It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth J. Bennett (New Haven, Connecticut), who passed away on April 19, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Austin Jordan, Sr. and Janie Evans Jordan; her husband Leroy Bennett; her sisters, Jane Jordan, Murrell Jordan and Thomasina Minder; her nephews, Rodney Jackson, Austin Jordan, III, Charlie Jordan and Robert Minder; her great-niece Markia Renee Jones; and her great-nephew Kenneth Maurice Brown, Jr..

She is survived by : her daughter Liane Sewell; her son-in-law Lorenzo Keith Sewell; her grandsons, Darius Jordan Sewell and Jaelin Lorenzo Sewell; her brother Austin Jordan, Jr.; and her nieces and nephews, Rosilyn Freeman, Elizabeth Jordan, Ruth Jordan, Charlene Minder, Vanessa Jordan, Phillip Jordan and Thomas Minder (Kimberly).

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church (425 Newhall St, Hamden, CT 06517). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Hamden Plains Cemetery (246 Circular Ave, Hamden, CT 06514).
