It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jim Arron Thomas (New Haven, Connecticut), born in Mount Gilead, North Carolina, who passed away on March 19, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave Thomas and Mildred Bruton Thomas; his siblings, Otis Thomas, Bonnie Thomas, David Thomas (Buck), Elise Thomas, Georgia Welch, Vaggaree (Sue) and Hester Pankey of New Jersey; his nieces, Sandra Smith and Charlotte Knight; and his nephew Willie Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Pearlene; his daughters, Michelle, Marsha Ann Thomas of New Haven, CT and Jan Michele Murphy (Jesse) of West Haven, CT; his grandchildren, Candis (Teisha), Athena, James (Keisha), Jessica, Melissa, Jamar, Nicole (Tobias) and RayJahqwan; his great grandchildren, Neriah and Joseph; his siblings, Mattie Thomas of Mt. Gilead, NC, Eva Christian (Candi) of Troy, NC and Augusta (Gus); his brother-in-law Leonard Holloway (Geneva); his mother-in-law Mary Berry of Wichita, Kansas; his nieces, Carol, Monique, Renee and Lisa; and his nephew Ed. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family, and friends.
