It is with great sadness that we announce the death of José Miguel Avila Sr. of New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 41, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Raul Avila, José and Josefina Marrero. He is survived by: his parents, Miguel Angel Avila of Beverly Hills, FL and Lourdes Marrero of New Haven; his fiancé Korina Carmona; his children, Jenalya Zai Avila, Robert Alexi Torres and José Miguel Avila, Jr.; his grandmother Aida Avila; his siblings, Swinda Avila and Misael Avila of New Haven; and his stepmother Ana "Gigi" Lebrón of Beverly Hills, FL. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Radiant Star of Jacob Christian Church (185 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06513). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A prayer will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
