He is survived by: his children, Maribel Torres (Hector) and Juan Ocasio, Jr. (Luz Maláve) of New Haven; his sisters, Margarita Rodríguez, Genoveva Pérez of New Haven, Ana Vázquez of Caguas and Puerto Rico; his grandchildren, Aisha, Katisha Alegria, Heriberto Santana, Gilberto Fernández and Hector Torres, II; his great grandchildren, Dante, Dwannah, Nariyah, Tatyana, Michael, Derrick and Sebastian; and his great great grandchild Nailana. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
