He is survived by: his wife Alberta Rose Gibbs; his children, Vickie Sanders (Xtavier) of Laurel, MD, William Gibbs (Stephanie) of Raleigh, NC, Krista Gibbs and Leon Gibbs Jr. of New Haven, CT; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Wilson, Marnae Green of Laurel, MD, Christian Gibbs, Michael Gibbs and Justin Gibbs of Raleigh, NC.; and his siblings, Carolyn Jarvis (Leon) of Boston, MA, Jacqueline Matthews (Ossie) of Raleigh, NC, Venice Ray Gibbs of Raleigh, NC, Darrell Gibbs (Betty), Randy Gibbs of Oriental, NC, Lillian Burley Guion and Marsha Fulcher. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers.
