She was predeceased by: her parents, Ignacio Vélez and Maria Vélez Paoli; her husband Rafael Román; her grandson Donald Manuel Morriar, III; her siblings, Carmela "Mela" Quiñones Vélez, Margarita "Margo" Garcia Vélez, Inez Vélez, Andrés Vélez and Benito Vélez; and her daughter-in-law Ivette Román.
She is survived by: her children, Sonia Román, Damaris Martínez, Alberto Román of New Haven, Rafael Angel Román and Samuel Román (Sharon) of Hamden; and her granddaughter Felicia Román. She is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Salvation Christian Church (3 Arch St, New Haven, CT 06519). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A prayer will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location.
