She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathan Alderman and Beatrice Gray Alderman; her husband James R. Monts; her siblings, Nathan Alderman and Ethel Taylor; and her granddaughter Breanna Monts.
She is survived by: her children, Marichal, Kerry (RoTonjia), Sean (Coretta), Pama (Tracy), Jeron Monts and Persephone Hall; her grandchildren, Kerry, Bryce, Christian, Donté, Nicodemus, Alaina, Isaac, Aaron, Jeremiah, William, Mataya, Ashley and Vanessa; her godchildren, Kurt Carr, Jonathan Forbes, Lisa Pierce, Cherie Johnson and Jocelynn Smith; and her sisters, Natalie Scott, Terrie Alderman and Teresa Williams. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, foster children, her extended family, friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Latter Rain Christian Fellowship (3200 Main St, Hartford, CT 06120). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Cedar Hill Cemetery (453 Fairfield Ave, Hartford, CT 06114).
