He was predeceased by : his children, Kevin P. Smith and Kaitlyn; the mother of his children Angelina; and his parents, Patrick Smith and Mary Smith (McBreen).

He is survived by : his wife Nelida DeCalvo-Smith; his son Patrick A. Smith (Karen); his grandchildren, Austin Smith and Kelsey Rai (Allon); his great grandchildren, Nora and Abigail; his stepchildren, Alex, Gabriel, Delia and Patricia; his siblings, Susan, Anthony, Annie, Jack and James; his nieces, Patricia, Mary (Smith), Annie and Susie; his nephew James Jr. (McManus); and also Susan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home (39 S Benson Rd, Fairfield, CT 06824). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
