She was predeceased by: her parents, Essie Lawson and Charles Lewis; her siblings, Patricia, Cecil, Cuthburt and Charles Lawson; and her grandchildren, Kira Washington and Thaddeus Hasell.
She is survived by: her friend Priscilla; her daughter Dorothy Washington; her grandchildren, Demetrice Lewis, Terrell Washington (Julisa), Tyrese Washington, Brandon Lewis, Maurice Lewis, Charona Lewis, Tamala Hasell-Felder (Shaun), Michael Lewis and Candace Hasell; her goddaughter Wanda Berryman; her husband Walter Wayne; and her children, Lisha E. Lewis and Walter Wayne Washington, Jr..
Viewing will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Colonial Funerals (86 Circular Ave, Hamden, CT 06514). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
