He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Townsend and Minnie Townsend; his grandson Noah Johnson; and his siblings, Eddie Townsend, Thad Pistol Lane, Earlene Walker, Roy Mack Townsend, John Douglas Townsend, Flora Lee Hatley, Minnie Mayfield Graham, Deborah Miller and Linda Townsend.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian; his children, Stephanie Townsend, Wade Rodney Townsend (Tanya), Deidre Johnson (Maurice) and Paula Rowser (Morris); and his grandchildren, Austin, Justin Townsend, Quincy, Wesley, Blair, Faythe, Mooriah and Nigel Rowser. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
