He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Peter Jones and Edith Norris Jones; and his daughter Simone L. Jones. He is survived by: his children, Phyllis A. Jones of Charlotte, N. C., Karen P. Jones of New Haven, CT., Patricia A. Killian (Nathaniel) of Charlotte, N. C., Deborah Smith (John) of Spartanburg, S. C. and William C. Jones, Jr.; his siblings, Dr. Sharon C. "Sam" Jones McCann (Percy) of New Haven, CT. and Mark Keith Jones of Buffalo, N. Y.; his nephew Aaron O. Scott; his niece Amber S. Moye of New Haven; and his close friend Miriam Teague. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren.
