He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tate and Frances Corbett Tate; his wife Betty Mae Austin-Tate; and his siblings, William Tate Jr., Curtis Jacobs, Lillian Outlaw, David Lee Tate, Shirley Ann Grady, Kenneth Earl Tate and Ernest Tate of North Carolina.
He is survived by: his children, Curtis Austin-Tate and Frances Tate. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
