Russell David Cavanaugh Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Russell David Cavanaugh (New London, Connecticut), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 31, 2025 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilda Diana Diamantini Cavanaugh and Eugene Russell Cavanaugh; his cousin Linda Hancock Donohue; and his grandparents, Angelina, John Diamantini, Madeline and Jack Cavanaugh.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne; his siblings, Pamela (Jeff Muttart) and David (Melissa Cavanaugh); his niece Kristina (Dan Coughlin); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Chase and Kendall; his nephew Matthew Muttart (Chase Knepp); and also, Megan, Matthew Zucker, Sean, Jacqueline Cavanaugh, Alex, Katherine Elwood, Eric and Danielle Elwood.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home (84 Montauk Ave, New London, CT 06320). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph's (149 Montauk Ave, New London, CT 06320).
