It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Irene McDonald (Newington, Connecticut), who passed away at the age of 96, on December 9, 2025. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Bouchard and Anna Bouchard; her husband Edward; her daughter Rollande; and her siblings, Lilly, Bernice, Claire, Rollande, Claudette, Lucille, Lucien, Rosaire, Paul and Roger.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael (Naomi) of St. Rose, LA and Daniel (Lynn) of Plantsville, CT; her grandchildren, Fallon (Kevin), Taylor (Lexi), Brian (Kate), Eric, Shannon, Alyssa and Dylan; her great grandchildren, Payton, Pressley, Lincoln, Maven and Atlas; and her sister Theresa Roy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newington Memorial (20 Bonair Ave, Newington, CT 06111). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home (20 Bonair Ave, Newington, CT 06111). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit (183 Church St, Newington, CT 06111). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Cedar Hill Cemetery (453 Fairfield Ave, Hartford, CT 06114).
