With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James R. Smith of Newington, Connecticut, born in Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away on March 5, 2026 at the age of 57. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Smith and Marie Smith (Morin); his brothers, Eugene, Donald and Thomas; and his pet Yoda.
He is survived by: his siblings, Patricia Johnson of Wethersfield, Mary Ethier (Greg) of Columbia, Billy Smith of West Hartford, Linda Smith of West Hartford, John and Lynne of Tolland; and his uncle Thomas Morin. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
