He is survived by: his wife Olga Grilo (Medeiros); his daughter Susana Grilo Merced (Victor); his grandchildren, Joel Merced, Briy, Aneesa Merced and Makayla; and his siblings, Armando, Paulo, Maria (Rosario), Idalina and Manuela. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
