He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmen Garcia Colon Rentas and Ermenio Viera; and his brother Felix Jaun Viera. He is survived by: his wife Milka Viera; his sons, Nelson Viera Jr. and Danny Viera; his granddaughter Ashley Marie Viera; his brother Hector Mendoza; his daughter-in-law Nancy Guzman; and his nieces and nephews, Carmen Viera, Mary Mendoza, Carmen Mendoza, Reinaldo Viera, Feliz Viera Jr., Pablo Mendoza and Hector Mendoza Jr..
