He was predeceased by: his parents, Hervey Richard and Ruth Richard (Massey); his wife Marie P. Richard; his brothers-in-law, Anthony, Joseph and Peter Piscitello; and his siblings, Renee Perreault and Gay Richard.
He is survived by: his children, Jeanne (Greg Picklesimer) of Newington, Michael (Lisa Richard) of Bristol, VA and Peter (Lisa Richard) of Broad Brook; his grandchildren, Nathaniel, Joshua, Zoe, Delaney (Nolan), Berkeley (Tanner), Camden, Gage (Erin), Wyatt and Sara; his great grandchildren, Buchanan, Bastian, Caroline and Quincy; his brother-in-law Francis Piscitello; and his sister Jacqueline Roach. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial (20 Bonair Ave, Newington, CT 06111). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Church (626 Willard Ave, Newington, CT 06111).
Additionally, he was a friend of Lucy Robbins Wells Library, the Broad Brook Opera House, and a dedicated platelet donor to the American Red Cross for more than 21 years, donating 699 units of platelets.
