He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Tierney and Susan Tierney (Keating); his son Gary Tierney; his wife Cecile "Debbie" Tierney; and his siblings-in-law, Germaine Zawadski (John), Gerard Villeneuve (Vivienne), Anita Smith and Donald Villeneuve.
He is survived by: his son Scott Tierney (Catherine) of New Britain; his grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan and Brendan; his daughter Joy Nenna (Robert) of Newington; his grandchildren, Abigail and Jack; his daughter-in-law Nicole Tierney of Berlin; his granddaughter Sophia; his niece Cheryl; and his nephews, Ken and Kevin. He is also survived by his children, a confidante to his nieces and nephews, and "Papa Bear" to his grandchildren.
