She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Herman C. Seitz and Theodora Helena Seitz Thieleke; her husband John H. Matern; and her sister Janet. She is survived by: her daughters, Kathryn Fisher (Thomas), Jane McGrath (Edward), Mary Thumser (Bart) and Deborah Matern Graf (Peter); and her grandchildren, Mark Fisher, Amy Paynter, Domenick Izzo, Michelle Swider, Patrick McGrath, John Izzo, Kathrine Graf, Angelina Mezick, Katie McGrath, Kristin Fisher, Daniel Graf, Carol Schmotzer and Shawn McGrath. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Contributions in memory of Carol may be given to the memorial fund of Christ the King Lutheran Church at the above address.
