With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Joseph Emerito of Newtown, Connecticut, who passed away on May 13, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Emerito and Evelyn Emerito; his former wife Beverly Sagaria Emerito (Mother); and his siblings, John, Nicholas "Sonny", Joseph "Mickey", Alfred "Al", Inez "Sissy", Julie and Margaret "Peg".
He is survived by: his significant other Eileen Barrett of Newtown, CT.; his son David Emerito (Marcy) of New Milford, CT; his stepsons, Daniel Sagaria (Margaret) of New Fairfield, CT, Matthew Barrett (Marianne) of Amston, CT and Jeffrey Barrett (Tara) of Gansevoort, NY.; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Anthony, Kristi, Raquel, Carli, Braeden, Kelly, Meghan, Conor, Riley and Easton; and his close friend Jimmy Donnellan of Danbury, CT.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
