It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Madeleine Bauer of Niantic, Connecticut, who passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Madeleine departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip VanCougyhem and Ida VanCougyhem; her boyfriend John Bauer; and her son John. She is survived by: her daughters, Laura Kasprow (Wesley) and Linda Grader (Mark); and her daughter-in-law Allison Bauer. She is also survived by five grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
