It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita F. Trakas of Niantic, Connecticut, who passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Foss and Katherine Molloy Foss; her spouse Leonidas "Lee" Trakas of Niantic; and her siblings, Frances Jutila, Mary Lok, Kathleen Orlando and Arthur Foss, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, LeeAnn Gulino, John (Louisa Trakas), Natalie Trakas, Cynthia (Andrew Pappas) and Daniel Trakas; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Gulino, Samuel Gulino, Jonathan Trakas, Alycia Trakas, Victoria Pappas Staub (Justin Staub), Alexandria Pappas and Nicholas (Chelsea Stevens). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
