He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace H. Johnson, Sr. and Marion Johnson (Dimanno); his sister Karen Haley; his brother-in-law Samuel Haley; and his nephew Andrew Haley.

He is survived by: his daughter Gina Johnson; his granddaughter Bristol of Somers; his son Michael Johnson; his daughter-in-law Heather of New London; his son Nicholas Johnson of Moosup; his sisters, Debra Johnson and Sandra Poulin; his nephews, Dwayne Poulin and Jacob Haley; and his niece Jessica Poulin.
